About Tarot Cards

Like the name suggests, my personal choice when it comes to divination/psychic reading tools is Tarot Cards. There are many misconceptions that exist about Tarot in general, but I do have my own opinions on these mystical cards.

The origin of Tarot is a little unclear, but most point to these cards coming into popularity with the production of decks like Ryder-Waite which increased general accessibility. Much like many areas of the ‘spiritual’ or ‘occult’, over the years they have gotten a bit of a bad rap. This may have to do with some of the more ‘confronting’ cards such as Death or the Devil, that lead some to be afraid of Tarot as a whole.

But to those who know Tarot, we know these cards don’t actually mean this in the literal sense. More traditional Tarot Decks were made in a time of little to no literacy amongst the masses, so Images on the Cards needed to be strong enough to invoke feelings from those reading them.

My personal style of reading is very intuitive. I use tarot to essentially create almost a visual story for my sitter, then I tend to let any messages I get come out with the messages of the cards. This is why I don’t personally use the meanings found in a Decks. As I have evolved in my reading style, I have created my own connection to the cards to read them clearly.

The card deck I use most often is The Modern Witch Tarot by Lisa Sterle
